Internationally recognised qualifications
Both the Fellowship Diploma of the British Association and the Graduate Diploma of the Gemological Institute of America are available on line or as correspondence courses. This has been found to be a very effective way to study the theoretical aspects of gemmology.
The laboratory is the official centre for the British Gem-A examinations and Arthur Thomas is a Gem-A registered tutor. The laboratory also offers an extensive range of specimen stones and coaching in the use of instruments that will enable students to meet the practical requirements they must fulfil in order to complete the courses.
